Limahl to hit us one more time

Wigan born pop star Limahl is back on prime-time TV!

Limahl, real name is Chris Hamill, found fame with Kajagoogoo, with massive hits such as Too Shy, and then went on to perform solo with hits like Never Ending Story.

Now Limahl will perform alongside the most memorable artists of the decade, including Human League, Tony Hadley and Go West, featuring Peter Cox and Richard Drummie.

80s Party will be staged at the historic Capesthorne Hall in Macclesfield, Cheshire, on June 4. Limahl has recently been making a big comeback with TV appearances in the UK and around the world. Most recently he was seen performing with Kajagoogoo in an exclusive concert for the first time in 20 years – something he vowed he would never do again.

But the former lead singer and the rest of the band, Nick Beggs, Steve Askew, Stuart Neale and Jez Strode, put aside their differences in London's Scala Club to perform a half hour set for a documentary for music channel VH1, which was shown last weekend.

Millions of viewers tuned in to watch Bands Reunited, which also included 80s band Flock of Seagulls. They played a couple of their hits – Too Shy and Hang On Now – and the rest of Kajagoogoo even allowed Limahl to do a rendition of The Neverending Story.

It was the first time the band had performed together since November 1983, when Limahl was unceremoniously booted out of Kajagoogoo, citing "personal differences" between himself and the band's management. At the time he said "never ever again" would they perform together.

He also revealed that the band had tried to get back together four years ago but that it hadn't worked out.

The 80s Party aims to take everyone back to their youth.

It will be set in acres of park and woodland with a breathtaking laser display bringing the unforgettable event to a close.
